Since this spring, we at MasterTurbo have added an important distributorship to the list. Indeed, top brand Garrett officially chose MasterTurbo as distributor for the Benelux of Garrett products. Naturally, we were very pleased with that. It also meant that we now have almost all major A-brands in our assortment. Time to introduce the brand Garrett.

Who is Garrett?

The IAM nameplates, where IAM stands for Independent After Market. You order these types of Turbochargers exclusively from officially approved Garrett distributors. For Europe, that means MasterTurbo since 2024. On the nameplate only a serial number and the Garrett turbo model, for example GT17V. Types of turbochargers from Garrett

Anno 2024 Garrett produces a wide range of turbochargers, for various applications. Thus, there is a suitable Garrett turbocharger for almost every current vehicle. Passenger cars, trucks, agricultural vehicles, heavy industrial machinery, marine engines. In total, Garrett offers a choice of some 8,000 models for the aftermarket. Most are traditional, single turbochargers. Garrett can confidently guarantee that these aftermarket turbochargers deliver the exact same quality and performance as original or OE parts.

A great technique that Garrett employs is the Variable Geometry Turbine turbocharger. Basically a flexible turbo that thinks with your engine. Not only good for saving costs, but also good for the environment, because thanks to the VG technology, the engine uses fuel more efficiently on short trips. That means: more economical driving and less emission of nitrogen oxides. Another innovation that has been further improved at Garrett is the "Wastegate Technology": a valve to prevent the turbocharger from suddenly building up too much pressure at higher speeds or heavier engine loads. The valve keeps the powerful turbo somewhat "in check" if need be. Truly a patented invention of Garrett itself is the Variable Nozzle Turbine. A row of vanes that provide just the right boost. Result: higher torque, better acceleration and yet cleaner combustion.
